Classical Choir at RPTU and "Old Barbarossa"
The Classical Choir of the Rhineland-Palatinate University of Technology brings together students, staff and music enthusiasts from the region.
Under the title "federleicht", the choir presents a program full of timbres, ranging from romantic German choral music to modern international choral literature and poetic folk song arrangements. The works range from Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy to contemporary composers such as Ēriks Ešenvalds, Ola Gjeilo and Morten Lauridsen. The focus of the program is Friedrich Silcher's song "Der alte Barbarossa", which is a musical homage to 750 years of Kaiserslautern and takes up the city's historical connection to the Staufer era.
Venue: Jubilee stage 750 years of the city of Kaiserslautern
