Study costs

At RPTU you pay the so-called social contribution per semester.

Additional fees or charges may apply.
The social contribution and any other fees are payable for enrolment at the RPTU and thereafter, whenever you wish to continue studying and thus re-register.

Extra fees

Students who are 60 years of age or older are required to pay tuition of EUR 700.00.

For a second degree , which is completed after the acquisition of a first university degree, a second degree fee in the amount of EUR 700.00 (in addition to the social contribution fee) is due per semester according to the Special Fees Schedule Rhineland Palatinate. In the case of foreign students, the second degree fee is generally only due in cases where the foreign degree type/degree is formally equivalent to the German degree type.

Students on leave of absence, doctoral students and distance learning students are exempt from the fees (not the social contribution!).

Payment of the fee is a prerequisite for enrolment and re-registration.

Tuition Fees

The study costs for distance study consist of two components, the social contribution (see above) and a tuition fee.

In principle, the social contribution is paid into the account of the Landeshochschulkasse Mainz (see above). The tuition fees of the DISC have always been paid separately into a separate bank account.

At present, there is a gradual change in the payment modalities. Since this has not yet been implemented for all degree programmes, there are one or two different bank accounts, depending on the degree programme.

Questions about payment by instalments or issuing invoices ?

 

Application of refund
Fee for waiving a place of study

Please note that if you want to waive your place of study (cancellation of enrolment and refund of the semester fee), there will be a fee of EUR 25 charged for degree prorammes with open admission, if you wish to waive your place of study for a degree programme with restricted admission the fee is EUR 45 in accordance with the state ordinance regarding fees in the areas of science, further education and research.

This fee will be offset against the amount already paid when the fee is refunded.
