System accreditation and reaccreditation

Quality management at TU Kaiserslautern was successfully system-accredited in 2015. After an intensive assessment process, RPTU in Kaiserslautern was once again awarded the seal of system accreditation for its quality management: in July 2023, the Accreditation Council awarded partial system accreditation without conditions until 30 September 2029.

At the RPTU in Kaiserslautern, we do not see system accreditation as a mere alternative to the prescribed programme accreditation of individual degree programmes. Rather, these procedures offer us the opportunity to anchor our quality management system in the long term, to further optimise the entire management process in studies and teaching and at the same time to ensure the quality of the study programmes not only with regard to the new applicable external regulations , but also with regard to our own quality criteria specific to RPTU in Kaiserslautern.

The following key objectives for the quality of teaching and learning at RPTU Kaiserslautern are associated with the partial system accreditation:

  • Continuation of the autonomy and personal responsibility already assumed
  • Realisation of strategic university development goals in quality management for teaching and learning
  • Updating own quality criteria and forms of their inspection
  • Implementation of flexible, resource-efficient accreditation procedures
