Weekly Corona update from the crisis team, week 26

Dear members and affiliates of the university,

In the following we inform you about the current situation at our university in the Corona pandemic.

+ Infection figures at TUK
No new index case has been reported at TUK since last week. You can also view the development of the numbers on our website. To those who have contracted Covid-19, we wish you a speedy and complete recovery.

Should you receive a positive test or be contacted as a suspected case, we urge you to register in the reporting portal at onlinemeldung.uni-kl.de/login. This is the only way we can keep track of the incidence of infection and initiate appropriate measures to protect against infection.

+ Vaccinations for students and young adults
The crisis team is currently preparing the organizational and technical requirements for the vaccination campaign at TUK announced by the Ministry. The vaccination offer is available to all 18- to 27-year-olds from Rhineland-Palatinate. Thus, students who are from Rhineland-Palatinate or enrolled in a Rhineland-Palatinate university, as well as all young adults from 18 to 27 years of age residing in Rhineland-Palatinate, can receive a vaccination. The vaccination campaign for students will take place from July 7 to 14 with the support of the German Red Cross. We will announce detailed information about the vaccination schedule at the beginning of next week.

We are very happy to be part of this campaign, which, however, presents us with great organizational challenges. We hope that many students of the TUK will take advantage of this offer, but we are also happy to be able to open the offer to the students of the University of Kaiserslautern as well as to all other persons of the target group in the city and the region.

+ Vaccinations by the company doctor
The initial vaccinations for employees of the TUK by the company doctor have now been completed. 555 of our employees* could be vaccinated at TUK. The scheduling for the second vaccinations has also been carried out.

+ Teaching and service
By the end of July, the 24th Corona Control Ordinance of the country is authoritative, which is in force as of today. Together with the cornerstones for next relaxation steps at TUK, which were already published last week, this will now be incorporated into TUK's hygiene and safety concept and Corona guidelines.
