Weekly Corona update from the crisis team, week 05
Dear members and affiliates of the university,
In the following we inform you about the current situation at our university in the Corona pandemic.
+++ NEW REGULATION: WHAT CHANGES?
As of today, the 30th CoBeLVO is in effect in Rhineland-Palatinate. Two innovations relevant for teaching concern the masking obligation for exams (see below) and the obligation to record contacts (see below).
A quick overview of the rules and regulations at the TUK is provided by the graphics, which compactly depict central scenarios in university operations. These can be found at the bottom of the Corona info page: https://www.uni-kl.de/coronavirus.
Regarding the overall situation: At TUK, the attendance semester still applies. The crisis team regularly evaluates possible changes depending on further developments. This is done in exchange with the other universities in Rhineland-Palatinate and the ministry.
For special events, the conventional procedure applies via notification to the event management. In this way, you will be reliably supported with regard to the many details of the respective regulatory situation.
+++ INFECTION FIGURES AT TUK
In the past week, 28 new index cases were reported at TUK. You can also view the development of the numbers on our TUK website at https://www.uni-kl.de/coronavirus. If you receive a positive test or are contacted as a suspected case, we urge you to register in the reporting portal at https://onlinemeldung.uni-kl.de/login. This is the only way we can keep track of the incidence of infection and initiate appropriate measures to protect against infection.
+++ CHANGES IN CONTACT RECORDING AND 3G RULE
With the entry into force of the 30th CoBeLVO, the obligation to record contacts in courses is no longer applicable. Accordingly, the regulatory situation at TUK changes as follows.
Until 02/12/2022 (end of the lecture period) applies:
Access to courses will continue to be via 3G proof by Intake QR code. IMPORTANT: No contact information will be read when scanning the QR code; contact tracking via the Intake system is disabled effective immediately.
Effective 02/14/2022:
For 3G proof, the general EU digital vaccination certificate (QR code on the official COVID certificate, in the CovPass or Corona alert app) must be presented; non-immunized individuals can prove their status by presenting the result of a negative PoC antigen test (performed by a rapid testing center, lay tests will still NOT be accepted). Use of the Intake QR code is no longer required. Intake can be used to "verify" digital immunization records on a transitional basis until Feb. 28, 2022. CovIn STATIONS are closed.
As of 03/01/2022, the following additionally applies:
The Intake system is completely shut down. The random validity check can then be carried out, for example, by visual inspection or with the CovPassCheck app.
+++ CONTACT RECORDING FOR SPECIAL EVENTS AND 2G-PLUS RULE
Effective immediately, the requirement for contact recording for special events is no longer applicable. The 2G-plus rule continues to apply for indoor special events and indoor sports. This means: access only for vaccinated and tested persons. Persons with booster vaccination, freshly vaccinated (= second vaccination less than three months ago), convalescents (up to three months after recovery) and vaccinated convalescents (double vaccinated after an infection) are exempt from the testing obligation.
+++ MANDATORY MASKING DURING EXAMINATIONS
For written and oral examinations in presence, masks are compulsory (MNS: OP mask or FFP2 mask) - exception: in individual cases where the wearing of a mask is not possible due to the nature of the examination, for example in sports or music. In addition to the mask requirement, as far as room occupancy is concerned, TUK continues to plan on the basis of 5 square meters per person.
+++ VISITING REGULATIONS / ACCESS TO BUILDINGS AND SERVICE FACILITIES
The 3G regulation applies to all persons using service facilities on the university campus. The same applies to external visitors who have business appointments in the buildings. Only vaccinated, recovered or tested persons with appropriate proof are allowed access. Checks may be carried out by the appropriate authorities.
+++ COMPLIANCE WITH QUARANTINE MEASURES
In the fight against the pandemic, the health protection of all is paramount. Therefore, we strongly remind everyone who receives a positive test result to comply with the valid or ordered infection control measures.
+++ OPENING HOURS TEST CENTER
The Testing Center in the Learning Tent on the Unisport campus is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. On Saturdays, the DRK team conducts rapid tests there from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
To register for a test appointment, visit https://drk-kl-uni.probatix.de/de/pick-slot or call 0631 - 800930.
+++ VACCINATION BUS COMES TO THE TUK ON FEBRUARY 9
The vaccination bus will again stop at the tent on the Unisport grounds on Feb. 9, 2022. German Red Cross staff will conduct primary, secondary and booster vaccinations at the tent from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
+++ FURTHER VACCINATION OFFERS
The VACCENTERS, including the one in Kaiserslautern, remain open. Appointments can be made via the state's hotline 0800 / 57 58 100 (Mon-Fri 8am-6pm and Sat-Sun 9am-4pm) or via the website https://impftermin.rlp.de.
Several IMPFBUSES continue to travel through Rhineland-Palatinate. Vaccination takes place every weekday and on Saturdays. Locations and stand times can be found here: https://corona.rlp.de/de/impfen/informationen-zur-corona-impfung-in-rheinland-pfalz/

Student learning spaces are available in the tent. During use, the distance requirement and the mask requirement apply (also at the site). Exception: when the vaccination bus comes to TUK on 9.02.2022, no learning operation is possible.
+++ HOME-OFFICE REGULATION STILL EXISTS
The employer must check whether, in the case of office work or comparable activities, these activities can be carried out by the employee in the home and there are no compelling operational reasons to the contrary, § 28b Abs.4 IfSG. The university is in normal operation. The service facilities and the administration are open. The respective department heads must ensure that operations run smoothly. Colleagues who are engaged in office work or comparable activities may not be able to work at home if their presence on campus is required.

The Vaccination Bus will be coming to the TUK campus on Feb. 9 for another immunization drive. The vaccination bus will be located in the Paul-Ehrlich-Straße near to building 28 (university sports hall). A team of the German Red Cross will carry out the vaccinations from 8 am to 4 pm in the tent.

+++ VACCINATION OF PERSON VACCINATED WITH A VACCINE NOT APPROVED IN THE EU
The Permanent Vaccination Commission of the Federal Government (STIKO) recommends adult persons who have been vaccinated with a vaccine that has not been approved in the EU to date to receive a new vaccination series with an EU-approved vaccine. The STIKO points out that this might lead to stronger vaccination reactions. Only with such an additional vaccination, the EU "vaccinated" status can be received. This note applies in particular to international students and visiting scientists at TUK.
