Weekly Corona Update from the Crisis Team , Week 49
Dear members and affiliates of the university,
The following is an update on the Corona Pandemic situation at our university.
+++ NEW STATE REGULATION: WHAT CHANGES?
CHANGES according to the current state regulation (29th CoBeLVO) are:
- Mask requirement during lectures (already implemented at TUK last week; independent of distance requirement and taking a seat),
- the 2Gplus regulation for special indoor events and 2G regulation for special outdoor events (the "plus" is fulfilled by booster vaccination) and
- the 2G rule for food and beverage pickup at Bistro 36.
ALL REGULATIONS AT A GLANCE: A quick overview of the complex set of regulations is provided by the charts that compactly depict the regulations for each scenario in University operations. These can be found at the bottom of the Corona info page: https://www.uni-kl.de/coronavirus
Regarding the overall situation: At TUK, the attendance semester still applies. The crisis team regularly evaluates a possible conversion to a digital semester depending on further developments. This is done in exchange with the other universities in Rhineland-Palatinate and the ministry.
For the implementation of special events, the conventional procedure via notification to the event management applies. In this way, you will be reliably supported with regard to the many details of the respective regulatory situation.
+++ INFECTION FIGURES AT TUK
In the current week, eight new index cases were reported at TUK. You can also view the development of the numbers on our TUK website at https://www.uni-kl.de/coronavirus. Furthermore, if you receive a positive test or are contacted as a suspected case, we urge you to register in the reporting portal at https://onlinemeldung.uni-kl.de/login. This is the only way we can keep track of the incidence of infection and initiate appropriate measures to protect against infection.
+++ LEARNING TENT OFFERS LEARNING PLACES AGAIN
After the vaccination campaign on 14.12.2021 (vaccination bus, see below), learning spaces will again be provided for students in the learning tent on the grounds of Unisport. When using them, the distance requirement and the mask requirement apply (also at the site).
+++ VACCINATION BUS COMES TO TUK ON DEC. 14, 2021.
On December 14, the vaccination bus will come to campus and will stop at Paul-Ehrlich-Straße next to building 28 (university gymnasium). The vaccination event will take place in the tent on the campus of Unisport. No pre-registration is available. Booster vaccinations can be given five months after the last vaccination. The team from the German Red Cross usually has the Pfizer/BioNTech and Johnson & Johnson vaccines available for the vaccination campaign.
+++ VACCINATION OFFER BY THE COMPANY PHYSICIAN
In January, probably from week 03, our company doctor will again offer vaccination appointments several days in a row. You will receive details shortly. Until then, we strongly recommend that you take advantage of all other available offerings: Primary care physicians and some specialists, vaccination centers and vaccination bus.
+++ OTHER VACCINATION SERVICES
The VACCINATION CENTERS, including the one in Kaiserslautern, have been open again since Nov. 24, 2021. Appointments can be made via the state's hotline 0800 / 57 58 100 (Mon-Fri 8am-6pm and Sat-Sun 9am-4pm) or via the website https://impftermin.rlp.de. Since December 1, registrations for booster vaccinations can be made at the vaccination center four months after the complete vaccination series.
Until the end of the year, several IMPFBUSES continue to travel through Rhineland-Palatinate. Vaccinations will take place every weekday; no appointment is necessary.
Stops nearby are TODAY - Friday, Dec. 10:
U.S. Army Kaiserslautern Rhein Ordnance Barracks (Opel traffic circle), at City-Outlet in Zweibrücken and at Weinstraßencenter Grünstadt.
All locations and stand times can be found here: https://corona.rlp.de/de/impfen/informationen-zur-corona-impfung-in-rheinland-pfalz/
+++ TEST CENTER ON CAMPUS
There is still a DRK test center available in 46/224. Opening hours are:
Monday - Friday: 6:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Saturday: 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Registration for a test appointment at https://drk-kl-uni.probatix.de/de/pick-slot or Tel. 0631 - 800930.
+++ 3G VERIFICATION AND COVIN STATIONS
First you need an Intake-QR-Code (https://kontaktverfolgung.uni-kl.de/), a proof of 3G status (rapid or PCR test, vaccination certificate, convalescent certificate) and an identification document (e.g. ID card). When creating the basic Intake QR code, complete address and contact information must be entered.
IMPORTANT: If you delete the cookies in your browser, then your generated QR code with your 3G status will also be deleted. Therefore, to be on the safe side, save the QR code in a separate file (PDF or image file) after creation.
Two CovIn stations are available for enriching the Intake QR code with 3G status. One of them is located in the Unisport Service Center in Paul-Ehrlich-Straße, building 28 (sports hall); opening hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 3:00 pm. The second location is the Student Service Center (SSC) in Gottlieb-Daimler-Straße, Building 47; opening hours from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.
+++ ORGANIZATION HOME-OFFICE
The employer must check whether, in the case of office work or comparable activities, these activities can be carried out by the employee at home and whether there are no compelling operational reasons to the contrary, § 28b Abs.4 IfSG. The university is in normal operation. The service facilities and the administration are open. The respective department heads must ensure that operations run smoothly. Colleagues who are engaged in office work or comparable activities may not be able to work at home if their presence on campus is required.

ENGLISH INFORMATION
+++ VACCINATION BUS WILL COME TO TUK CAMPUS ON 12/14/2021.
The Vaccination Bus will be coming to the TUK campus on December 14 for another immunization drive. According to the latest plans, the vaccination bus will be located in the Paul-Ehrlich-Straße near to building 28 (university sports hall). A team of the DRK will carry out the vaccinations from 8 am to 4 pm in the tent.
+++ VACCINATION OF PERSON VACCINATED WITH A VACCINE NOT APPROVED IN THE EU
The Permanent Vaccination Commission of the Federal Government (STIKO) recommends adult persons who have been vaccinated with a vaccine that has not been approved in the EU to date to receive a new vaccination series with an EU-approved vaccine. The STIKO points out that this might lead to stronger vaccination reactions. Only with such an additional vaccination, the EU "vaccinated" status can be received. This note applies in particular to international students and visiting scientists at TUK. Re-vaccination can be done, for example, in the vaccination bus that will come to TUK on 12/14/2021.
