Research associate and doctoral candidate
Patricia Rinck is a research associate and doctoral candidate at the Institute for Development and Peace (INEF) and the Käte Hamburger Kolleg at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Her dissertation focuses on peacebuilding in Sierra Leone.
In her Bachelor's degree in "European Studies" at the University of Madgeburg and in her Master's degree in "International Relations and Development Policy" at the University of Duisburg-Essen, she already dealt with questions of development cooperation and democratic peacebuilding. Her master's thesis on "Power Sharing and Democratic Peacebuilding in Post-conflict Societies" was awarded the Institute Prize for the best thesis in political science by the University of Duisburg-Essen in 2013.
In her field research visits, Patricia Rinck interviews representatives from politics, civil society, academia and international development cooperation about the successes and challenges of peacebuilding missions.
