The Federal and State Professors' Program is designed to promote gender equality in higher education.

The funding program aims to increase the proportion of female professors at German universities.
With the initial appointment, the program places a special focus on promoting women on the path to a lifetime professorship in order to retain them in the science system and further develop structural equality at universities.
