Peace Academy leaves X/Twitter

The Peace Academy Rhineland-Palatinate has decided to leave the online platform "X". As an institution that is committed to peace and researches, teaches and works on crisis prevention and conflict transformation, we can no longer be responsible for sharing our content on a platform that increasingly provides a platform for racist, anti-Semitic, misogynistic, trans- and queer-hostile and other inhumane content. Since the takeover of the short messaging service, hate speech and disinformation have become more frequent on the platform in a way that no longer seems acceptable to us. The fact that the platform has dissolved its own supervisory bodies or extremely thinned out its staff and has also withdrawn from the voluntary EU agreement to combat disinformation on the internet means that we can no longer hope that this will change in the foreseeable future.
