The Peace Academy Rhineland-Palatinate was represented by Dr. Charlotte Dany, who spoke on the closing panel about the peace-building potential of religion.

From January 24-25, 2020, the conference 'War and Religion' took place at the Butenschoen-Haus in Landau. The Peace Academy Rhineland-Palatinate was represented by Dr. Charlotte Dany, who spoke on the closing panel on the peace-promoting potential of religion. She raised the question of how faith-based non-governmental organizations (NGOs) can contribute to peace and stability through their humanitarian and development work, and what prevents these organizations from achieving ambitious political goals. Dr. Ulrich Wien, Academic Director of Protestant Theology at the University of Koblenz-Landau, Dr. Till Ansgar Baumhauer, art historian and artist from Dresden and Pastor Detlev Besier, Head of the Peace and Environment Office of the Protestant Church of the Palatinate, joined her on the podium for a discussion. The conference was organized by the Protestant Academy of the Palatinate and the Association for Palatinate Church History.
