Dr. Melanie Müller works as a researcher with a focus on South Africa/Southern Africa at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) in Berlin and is deputy head of the Africa and Middle East research group.

Melanie Müller regularly researches and publishes on political and socio-economic developments in South Africa/Southern Africa as well as on resource governance, geopolitics and sustainability in commodity supply chains.
