The Center for Interdisciplinary Disaster Research is an association of research groups in the field of disaster research at RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau. The aim is to utilize the potential of interdisciplinary research between technology, economics and education. Our specific expertise covers the following areas:

The CIDR at the "Nacht, die Wissen schafft"
Visit the Center for Interdisciplinary Disaster Research at RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau and find out more about our innovative disaster research. Together with the German Red Cross (DRK), the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW), the German Armed Forces and the fire department, we will demonstrate how effective cooperation can be achieved in the event of a disaster. We show how emergency services and science can improve preparation and training in order to better cope with future disasters. Our focus areas include civil protection, disaster management and coping with exceptional flooding events. See how interdisciplinary approaches in technology, business and education make a valuable contribution to disaster prevention.
