Corona Update from the Crisis Team, Week 16

Dear members and affiliates of the university,

The following is an update on the Corona Pandemic situation at our university.

+++ MASKING REQUIREMENT EXTENDED
We are looking forward to a summer semester in attendance. At the same time, we continue to monitor how the infection situation is developing at TUK, in the city and in the region. The start of the lecture season is a particularly critical and crucial period, as many people are now once again congregating with us on campus. In order to support the health and safety of all university employees during this time, masks will continue to be mandatory in TUK buildings, in lectures and on duty until 08.05.2022. The mask can be removed by lecturers in courses and seminars.

The university management orders this measure bindingly on the basis of the TUK house law. The mask is a proven means to protect oneself and others from infection with the Corona virus.

At the same time, the university management appeals to all students and employees to continue to protect their own health as well as that of their fellow human beings through prudent behavior.

Within the framework of the extended SARS-CoV-2 occupational health and safety regulation, the TUK continues to provide medical masks (the concept for the procurement and issue of MNS and FFP2 masks continues to apply) and, from now on, one rapid test per week (the tests should be used in particular by persons with cold-like symptoms).

+++ INFECTION FIGURES AT TUK
In the last week, 30 new index cases were reported at TUK. You can view trends in the numbers at https://www.uni-kl.de/coronavirus. If you receive a positive test, we urge you to register in the reporting portal at https://onlinemeldung.uni-kl.de/login. This is the only way we can keep track of the incidence of infection and initiate appropriate measures to protect against infection.

+++ DRK TEST CENTER IN ROOM 46/225
The German Red Cross will be conducting Corona rapid tests in Room 46/225 until the end of April. The possibility of extending the testing offer beyond April is currently under review, with a decision expected early next week.

The DRC testing center is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. If the rapid test is "positive", the sample for a PCR test can be taken directly on site.

Registrations for a test appointment can be made at https://drk-kl-uni.probatix.de/de/pick-slot or by calling 0631 - 800930.

+++ CURRENT VACCINATION OFFERS
The VACCENTERS, including the one in Kaiserslautern, are still open. Appointments can be made via the state's hotline 0800 / 57 58 100 (Mon-Fri 8am-6pm and Sat-Sun 9am-4pm) or via the website https://impftermin.rlp.de.
