Corona update from the crisis team, week 20
Dear members and affiliates of the university,
The following is an update on the Corona Pandemic situation at our university.
+++ CHANGE IN MASK REQUIREMENT EFFECTIVE MAY 30.
On May 25, the SARS-CoV-2 occupational health and safety regulation currently in effect will expire. In light of this, as of Monday, May 30, the mask requirement previously imposed by house rule for instructional sessions will be lifted.
As with the overall management of the pandemic, this measure has also been closely coordinated with our company physician. In view of the continuously falling incidence rates at the TUK, as well as in the city and region, we consider this measure to be fully justifiable and in line with the general framework set by the federal and state governments.
However, we make an explicit mask recommendation.
We also continue to recommend the wearing of a mask for all other areas - hallways and foyers, examinations, official business and special events.
In addition, the University administration continues to appeal to all students and employees to protect their own health as well as that of their fellow human beings through prudent behavior.
+++ CURRENT REGULATORY SITUATION AT TUK
Comprehensive information on Corona protections in place at the University is available at www.uni-kl.de/coronavirus. There are also overview graphics available that show at a glance which regulations apply where.
+++ INFECTION FIGURES AT TUK
Eight new index cases have been reported at TUK so far this week. You can view trends in the numbers at www.uni-kl.de/coronavirus. If you receive a positive test, we urge you to sign in to the reporting portal at onlinemeldung.uni-kl.de/login. This is the only way we can keep track of the incidence of infection and initiate appropriate measures to protect against infection.
+++ CURRENT VACCINATION OFFERS
The VACCENTERS, including the one in Kaiserslautern, are still open. Appointments can be made via the state's hotline 0800 / 57 58 100 (Mon-Fri 8am-6pm and Sat-Sun 9am-4pm) or via the website impftermin.rlp.de.
