We ask creative writers to write a gripping scientific report on a topic of their choosing. The challenge is crafting the text in a way that can be understood by a layperson. The best submissions win a cash prize of up to 1.400,- €.

Our judges value creativity and convincing command of the language (English or German). A scientific report is a specific genre – please research what this means in advance. Do not hesitate to tackle complex topics. Our judges consider the complexity of the topic when evaluating your submission. Give it a try and show us your talent!

FORMAL REQUIREMENTS

• between 6.000 and 8.000 characters (incl. spaces)
• original illustrations for clarity are welcome
• cite all relevant literature
• anonymous submission for the jury: please state your name, address, and email only in the email to which your submission is attached, not in the report itself
• submit a PDF file (max. 7 MB) to: kerstin.schmachtl[at]rptu.de
• students / employees of RPTU (Kaiserslautern AND Landau)
• text can be in English or German
• the jury's decision is final
