Dialogue Climate & Peace: Opportunities and risks of Digitalization
Climate change is the global threat and central challenge of our time. The effects of climate change and access to increasingly scarce resources are also key areas of conflict worldwide. Climate protection and the transformation to a sustainable life and economy are therefore both necessary for the preservation of our natural resources and the basis for peace and a good life for all.
As part of the "Dialogue Climate & Peace" series of events, representatives from local administrations, municipal initiatives and associations have been exploring the question of why and how the connection between climate protection and peace also plays a role in local climate protection decisions in lectures, discussions and workshops every year since 2021.
This year, global and local contexts of Digitalization will be examined with regard to conflicts and climate protection. Positive examples, opportunities and possibilities as well as places of success will be presented and discussed. Following contributions from science, politics and initiatives, the proven format will offer space for exchange and networking in workshops.
The event is a cooperation with the municipal umbrella organizations, the Rhineland-Palatinate Development Policy Network / ELAN e.V., RENN.west, the Rhineland-Palatinate Peace Academy, RPTU and the Rhineland-Palatinate Energy Agency.
