KI-Kompass

Artificial Intelligence is transforming the way we learn, conduct research, and make decisions - and since the 2025/26 winter semester, RPTU has made this topic an integral part of the start of the academic year: With the new “KI-Kompass”, all first-year students receive a practical and academically grounded introduction to key concepts, tools, and ethical discussions surrounding AI.

The course is offered as part of the introductory and orientation activities at RPTU and is available in an in-person format. The focus is not only on technical fundamentals but also on a critical examination of the responsible use of AI in academic studies. 

In the long term, the AI Compass is intended to become a certificate course with ECTS credits, open to all RPTU students—interdisciplinary, in-depth, and directly linked to cutting-edge research at the university.
