Peace Academy receives additional funding in Rhineland-Palatinate's double budget
On December 21, 2022, the Rhineland-Palatinate parliament voted on the 2023/24 double budget. This provides for the Rhineland-Palatinate Peace Academy to receive €35,000 more per year. Dr. Lea Heidbreder (GRÜNEN parliamentary group) justifies this with the great importance that the work of the Peace Academy has for the state: "This will increase the visibility of the Peace Academy's important work in the field of conflict research and peace education." The additional funds will be used in particular to "expand the peace education work of the Peace Academy RLP", as Dr. Katrin Rehak-Nitsche (SPD parliamentary group) emphasized. The management of the Peace Academy and the President of the RPTU University Kaiserslautern-Landau in Landau also welcome the financial strengthening of the Peace Academy. Prof. Dr. Gabriele Schaumann: "With the additional funds for the Peace Academy, the state is setting a special and valuable accent in these challenging times - not only for peace work and peace research, but also for their integration into university research at RPTU."
