Christina Ankenbrand joined the Peace Academy team from October 2017 to December 2020 as a research associate in the research focus area "Environmental and Resource Conflicts". She now works as a planning officer at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in the field of resource governance. At the Peace Academy, she most recently led the two research projects "Natural Resource Governance and Human Security in Post-Conflict Societies" and "Enhancing Women's Participation in Forest Governance", which dealt with the influence of reforms in the mining and forestry sector on the local population in Liberia and Sierra Leone.
