Christina Ankenbrand is a political scientist, specialized in peace and conflict studies. She currently works as an advisor for the ‘Extractives and Development’ programme at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Bonn, Germany, and is a research associate at the Peace Academy Rhineland-Palatinate, University of Koblenz-Landau. In her research and advisory work, she focuses on natural resource governance, conflict, peace and development. From 2017 to 2020 she worked at the Peace Academy Rhineland-Palatinate on the linkages between natural resource governance and human security in post-conflict societies, with a focus on artisanal and small-scale mining in Liberia.
