The Center for Interdisciplinary Disaster Research is an association of research groups in the field of disaster research at RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau. The aim is to utilize the potential of interdisciplinary research between technology, economics and education. Our specific expertise covers the following areas:

Visit to the "In Extremis" workshop by Prof. Danner-Schröder
Last week, Prof. Anja Danner-Schröder took part in the "In Extremis" workshop at Umeå universitet. In a small circle of researchers on "Extreme Contexts", the focus was on exchanging ideas about research, responsibility, methodological decisions and the questions for which there are still no ready answers.
The content ranged from discursive perspectives on research in extreme contexts(Eero Vaara), oral life history(Robin Burrow) and responsible fieldwork (Daniel Geiger) to ethnographic approaches and social simulations (Sofia Karlsson and Cezara-Maria Pastrav).
Prof. Danner-Schröder was grateful for this community and the special atmosphere of the workshop: a place where academic work is not only presented, but also developed further together, openly, critically and with genuine solidarity.
