Strategies

The cross-university cooperation strategy "Transfer for the Future of the Palatinate" for the transfer of ideas, knowledge and technologies of the TU and Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences forms the basis of both universities' understanding of transfer: "In science-based transfer, we maintain a symbiotic exchange, especially with small and medium-sized enterprises and society, based on our research activities in future-oriented areas."

Based on our shared vision "Creative and open to cooperation for innovation in the Palatinate", we are closely networked with business and society in a regional innovation system whose strengths are visible nationally and internationally via coherent transfer structures and process-supported. In this innovation system, we initiate and support innovations in a creative and cooperative manner with regard to

  • the joint transfer topics and activities
  • our target groups and transfer channels as well as
  • our existing and future network partners in transfer

An integrated development strategy for the knowledge and innovation location Kaiserslautern was developed at the TU Kaiserslautern in order to set the course for the future and for the benefit of the entire Kaiserslautern region. It is intended as a strategic and adaptive instrument that focuses in particular on recognizing the responsibility of business, science and society for the development of the location. The aim is to promote innovation and commitment and to achieve and consolidate acceptance of the common goals.

The Rhineland-Palatinate Regional Innovation Strategy (RIS) is an umbrella strategy that brings together the innovation policy strategy approaches of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. At a national level, it ties in with the Federal Government's High-Tech Strategy and is embedded in the EU 2020 Strategy.

Against this backdrop, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Science of Rhineland-Palatinate drew up a joint RISS for the state for the first time in 2014. The RIS3.RP 2021 strategy, which has now been updated, is the prerequisite for being able to use resources from the European Funds for Innovation in the coming EU funding period from 2021 to 2027. The strategy was developed in a dialog process involving representatives from science, business, administration and politics.

The updated RIS3.RP reflects the holistic, systemic approach of innovation and economic policy in Rhineland-Palatinate. It is the basis for strengthening the business and innovation location and helps it to hold its own in national and international competition."
