The event at the Disaster Management Training Center, which was attended by scientists from Japan as well as a research team from Malaysia, served to discuss issues of education in disaster management: How can disaster management be improved through better training in the administrative area and for professional helpers? What skills should the population have? What roles do spontaneous helpers have and how can they be coordinated and trained in the event of a disaster?
