Irish Folk AG

Regular Meetings

every Tuesday, 7.30 pm,
Gebäude 30 (Mensa 4)

When you are in an Irish pub and suddenly you hear an instrument, soon followed by another, and the room fills with melodies, then you are in the middle of an Irish Traditional Session.

The tunes are usually played by ear. There are many different kinds — skippy hornpipes, rapid reels, but also slow waltzes, played on banjo, fiddle, flute, and other traditional instruments.

We founded the Irish Folk AG to build a repertoire and be able to participate in Irish Sessions. Every Tuesday, we immerse ourselves in the music of Ireland, learn new tunes, and work on typical Irish techniques. Whether you already have experience with Irish music or are just an interested beginner, you are welcome to swing by!
