Statement on digital accessibility

Accessibility at https://rptu.de

Statement

We take your right to participation seriously.

The RPTU website offering is diverse and has grown over the years. Some offerings comply better with the accessibility regulations than others. Nevertheless, we are trying to gradually make all of our web content accessible.

The websites that are currently still in the TU Kaiserslautern design use website templates that technically comply with the accessibility requirements. Our editors are encouraged to create their content on the pages in an accessible manner.

The main pages of the RPTU and central facilities use website templates that are intended to technically comply with the accessibility requirements; this has not yet been checked. Here, too, editors are encouraged to create their content on the pages in an accessible manner.

Important: about this accessibility statement

This university is still in the process of merging the TU Kaiserslautern and the University of Landau to form the RPTU. The information on the accessibility status on this page refers to pages in the layout of the TU Kaiserslautern. Unfortunately, websites in the new design of the RPTU have not yet been tested for accessibility. (RPTU Webteam)

About the accessibility of our web offerings in detail

The following accessibility statement comes from a review of content on www.uni-kl.de and in the design of the TU Kaiserslautern. The pages in question are now in the design of the RPTU, which has not yet been reviewed. Therefore, this is only valid as an example for websites that still appear in the design of the TU Kaiserslautern.

The Technical University of Kaiserslautern is committed to making its website www.uni-kl.de accessible in accordance with the national legislation implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public bodies.

This accessibility statement applies to the website of the Technical University of Kaiserslautern, which can be accessed via the entry link www.uni-kl.de.

Creation of this accessibility statement

This statement was created on June 25, 2021.

Our website was independently tested by third parties from Academic Hero according to WCAG 2.1 via the BITV test. You can view the full test on the basis of this declaration here.

The declaration was last checked on June 25, 2021.

Status of compliance with the requirements

This website is partially compatible with the Federal and State Disability Equality Acts (BGG & LGG), the Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.

Reason

The Technical University of Kaiserslautern has a very extensive website with at least several hundred web pages. The majority of the pages were published before September 23, 2018. However, due to the disproportionate burden under the federal and state equality laws, the website is not yet fully barrier-free. The technical implementation is being carried out gradually.

Feedback and contact details

The Technical University of Kaiserslautern is working to eliminate the existing barriers.

If

  • you encounter barriers when using the website
  • content that is difficult to access,
  • content that violates the general recommendations for accessibility or is not compliant with WCAG,
  • or content that is unclear and should be expressed or worded differently,
  • or you have other questions about the implementation of accessibility,

please send an email to info[at]uni-kl.de or fill out the accessibility form.

From there, your request will be forwarded to the responsible body.

Enforcement procedure

If we do not process your feedback to your satisfaction, you can contact the arbitration board at the Federal Government Commissioner for the Affairs of People with Disabilities. This arbitration board is responsible for finding solutions to disputes between people with disabilities or their associations and federal public bodies and settling them out of court.
