Forest conservation: From conflict to peace
Forest conservation: From conflict to peace
Environmental peacebuilding perspectives from Liberia, Brazil and Cambodia
Forest conservation presents both conflict risks and great opportunities for environmental peacebuilding by transforming resource conflicts into opportunities for cooperation. When implemented in a conflict-sensitive manner, these initiatives resolve disputes over land access, tenure rights and profit-sharing, while strengthening community bonds and integrating traditional practices. Using case studies from Africa, Latin America and Southeast Asia, this webinar will highlight approaches that unite diverse stakeholders around common forest goals and promote inclusive dialog and sustainable outcomes.
