Workshops for female students

Dates

Which jobs, experiences and contacts will really get me ahead? And how do I find out what suits me? This workshop is about not "just letting your studies happen", but consciously shaping your own path.

We will share our experiences of working student jobs, mentoring and building a network and reflect together on how a conscious, strategic approach can support your own path. Together we will talk about questions such as:

Who am I, where do I want to go and who can support me on this path?

Perfect for anyone who is looking for orientation, has questions or wants to consciously shape decisions and networking right from the start

Mentoring for female students

Focus:
Health promotion, self-regulation and coping with studies

Everyday student life is characterized by a multitude of simultaneous demands. You are constantly moving between deadlines, performance requirements, organizational tasks and your own expectations and demands. This often leaves little room to consciously perceive and classify your own experiences.

Particularly in phases of increased stress or in transitional situations, this can lead to you primarily functioning, while reflection and regeneration take a back seat. At the same time, studying is a time-limited phase with clear objectives, in which conscious use of your own resources plays a central role in coping with your studies and staying healthy.

Aim:

The aim of the workshop is to open up a structured and protected space for you to consciously perceive and categorize your own experiences in everyday student life. You should be supported in this,

  • to become aware of the demands and stresses of your everyday life as a student

  • recognize personal sources of strength and supportive factors,

  • and to reflect on your own situation in terms of coherence and ability to act.

The focus is not on individual performance enhancement or optimization, but on orientation, self-awareness and a healthy approach to the demands of studying. The workshop promotes self-awareness, self-regulation and sustainable study management. It strengthens you in your personal responsibility and supports a health-oriented approach to the demands of studying.

Content:

The focus is on reflecting on your individual experiences in everyday study life. You will actively address the following aspects in particular:

  • Your own experience between organization, requirements and expectations,

  • the classification of burdens and resources,

  • the question of the extent to which current actions are experienced as coherent,

  • and the importance of conscious breaks and self-care during your studies.

Methods:

The workshop is designed to be reflection-oriented. Guided impulses, short individual reflection phases and moderated exchange provide a framework in which female students can classify their experiences without pressure to perform and without the obligation to disclose their personal experiences.

Mentoring for female students

Many students know what they can't do, but only a few can clearly name what makes them really strong. Yet it is precisely these strengths that are decisive for self-confidence, motivation, a convincing appearance and well-founded decisions - during your studies and beyond.

In this workshop, you will discover your individual strengths, learn how to use them consciously and develop them further in a targeted manner. You will gain clarity about what makes you special and how you can use this potential in your studies, in presentations, in the application process and in everyday working life.

When you know your strengths, you feel more confident, act more clearly and present yourself more authentically.

Learning objectives:

  • Recognize and consciously perceive your personal strengths
  • Gain clarity about what motivates and drives you
  • Putting your own doubts into perspective and boosting your self-confidence
  • Communicate your strengths authentically to the outside world

  • Self-reflection & strengths analysis
  • Recognize inner blockages
  • Showing strengths to the outside world

Many people find it difficult to say "no" and turn down a request.

What is behind this and how can we change it? Why do we sometimes say "yes" even though we don't feel good about it, feel overwhelmed or even get angry about it?

There are many reasons why we find it difficult to say "no" at work, at university, among friends or in the family. This workshop explains these behaviors and develops helpful strategies for acting with self-care, courage and clarity.

Contents and goals:

  • Backgrounds - behavioral patterns
  • Participants' own experiences
  • What types of "yes-men" are there?
  • Willingness to help versus self-abandonment
  • Self-care - feelings of guilt
  • Strategies and tips for saying "no"
  • Practical examples of "saying no" with friends, family and at university
  • Exercises on body language, voice and impact
  • Reducing fears & insecurity, strengthening personality & self-confidence
  • Response options - toolbox for different situations

Methods:

The workshop is designed to be interactive and, in addition to theoretical, technical input, includes sufficient space for exchange in which the participants are actively involved. The methods are selected individually according to the needs and concerns of the women, using partner exercises, group work, surveys, visualizations and suitable exercises from the field of coaching.

Participants:

Mentoring project participants, students at RPTU

Trainer: Silke Gorges, expert in personality development, conflict communication, safety training, violence prevention and team building; martial arts champion (4th Dan Jiu Jitsu); mediator and coach
