Equality at universities - protection against discrimination and family-friendly working conditions
Friday, 10.10.2025, 09:30-12:45 a.m.
The online seminar is dedicated to equality at universities from the perspective of employment law. It will provide an overview of the legal regulations on protection against discrimination in the employment relationship. The existing possibilities for action, the addressees and the limits of legal protection will be shown. Another focus of the online seminar is to highlight the legal framework conditions that apply to the family-friendly design of employment conditions at the university. These can already become relevant during the recruitment process, e.g. with regard to the right to ask applicants questions during the interview. The options for structuring working hours and the extension of fixed-term contracts for young academics in accordance with the WissZeitVG also play a significant role in academic careers.
