Holiday planning is usually difficult for students and working parents of schoolchildren (six to twelve years old). They encounter a childcare problem outside school hours, as children have more than twice as many holidays as working parents; and student parents often cannot combine seminars, internships, exams, jobs, etc. with childcare during school holidays.
In order to help overcome this, attractive activities are offered during the Easter, pentecost, summer and autumn holidays. 5 weeks a year we organise varied camps. They feature exciting, child-friendly workshops in the natural sciences and technology faculties. In addition, children engage in sporting activities. They go to the forest playground and explore the university. But also games (inside and outside) and handicrafts do not get a raw deal. The highlight of the week is usually the full day excursion. In the forest the children have a colourful construction trailer of RPTU at their disposal.
The children, who attend the program until 1.30 p.m. or 4.30 p.m. will have snacks; drinks, fruit and vegetables will be offered during the day. Also the children visit the Mensa for a warm meal; unless annouced differently. For day trips, children are provided with packed lunches from the cafeteria.
