The Laboratory for Ultra-Precision and Micro Engineering (LPME) is a new research building at the RPTU. In LPME, scientists from mechanical engineering, process engineering, physics, and computer science research the fundamental understanding of the complex size effects and interactions that define manufacturing and characterization at the level of ultra-precision and micro technologies.

Around 85 offices are available in LPME for employees. There are 16 new major research instrumentations installed in the laboratories, as well as other equipment used for research in the field of ultra-precision and micro-technologies.
