The Peace Academy was represented at the Democracy Festival on May 20 in Landau with a stand on the market square and a workshop. The stand was very well attended; the giant JoDDiD worksheets on democracy and peace met with particular interest. Visitors were able to use glitter stickers to visualize their own thoughts and get into conversation with each other. In the morning, it was mainly school groups from Landau and the surrounding area who took advantage of this interactive offer and then exchanged ideas with the Peace Academy staff.

The workshop "Injustices and border violations in everyday life: between courage, solidarity and room for maneuver" was aimed at students from the 10th grade at Max-Slevogt-Gymnasium. 18 participants discussed their own everyday experiences, created conflict mappings and used a typology of different forms of violence to develop strategies to support those affected in solidarity while respecting their own boundaries.

At Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium, sixth-form students from Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium, Eduard-Spranger-Gymnasium and Maria-Ward-Schule discussed questions such as "Should there be a German nuclear bomb?" as part of the "Kernfrage" simulation game. - "Or a pan-European protective shield?" - "Will the Americans stand by Europe in the event of an emergency?" - "Or should the German government do more to promote disarmament and a ban on nuclear weapons?"
