"Tug of War" project starts field research
The research project "Tug of War: Customary and State Actors in Land Reform and their Impact on Human Security in Post-Conflict Societies" is entering its next phase. Starting in January, Dr. Anne Hennings and Christopher Rohles will begin their field research in Sierra Leone.
Until mid-April, they will collect qualitative data through interviews and observations, which will provide valuable insights into the situation on the ground. The "Tug of War" project examines the interdependencies between state and customary authorities in land reforms in post-conflict contexts and their impact on human security in Sierra Leone. The aim is to analyze the unintended consequences of land reforms on social cohesion - a key factor for stability and peace.
