System Architecture

The system architecture for autonomous driving, cloud off-loading functionality and services for predictive maintenance utilizing local, edge and cloud computation, as well as event-based wireless communication protocols:

  • Sensing represents the big data coming from the environmental sensors, actuators and other devices,
  • Modeling and Inference implements real-time information modeling and AI techniques,
  • Fog computation enhances computational time efficiency by distributed storing, computation and communication between edges, devices and the cloud,
  • Implementation of ontology-based information model of the digital twin,
  • Inference represents algorithmic findings, recommendations and decision making,
  • Feedback is the result of new finding from algorithms and models,
  • Action represents the feedback signal for actuating an adjustment in the physical process.
