October 21-24, 2025
Kyoto, Japan

From 21 to 24 October 2025, Linda Müller (Project D1) and Jan Ludorf (Project B4) attended the 19th International Water Association (IWA) Conference on Sludge Management in Kyoto, Japan.
Organised by the International Water Association (IWA), this international conference attracted around 200 attendees from across the globe, providing an opportunity to exchange ideas on innovative sludge treatment and utilisation processes and connect with experts from around the world.

Mr Ludorf and Ms Müller presented the results of their current research on phosphorus recovery from sewage sludge at the WERA graduate school in a 15-minute talk, and were able to establish valuable contacts and gain ideas for future research projects.

The conference ended on a high note for Linda Müller during the closing ceremony, when she received one of seven awards for the best presentation. This achievement rounded off a successful conference experience for both researchers.
