WERA is organising a technical tour of the Mainz-Mombach Wastewater Treatment Plant on Wednesday, 11 February 2026.

During the visit, WERA's PhD students will have the opportunity to gain insights into the following:

• existing treatment plant
• the construction of the upcoming fourth treatment stage, which includes ozone treatment and a granular activated carbon (GAC) stage for the elimination of micropollutants
• sludge treatment facilities, including the digestion tower and sludge incineration.
