As part of the visit by Carmela Shamir, the Consul General of the State of Israel for Southern Germany, Charlotte Dany had the opportunity to present the Peace Academy Rhineland-Palatinate. In her presentation, she explained the concept of the 'Shared Society' and talked about other projects that are taking place in cooperation with the University of Haifa.

Last Thursday, September 22, 2022, the Consul General of the State of Israel for Southern Germany, Carmela Shamir, visited Landau. On this occasion, Charlotte Dany presented the Peace Academy Rhineland-Palatinate and the projects it is carrying out with Israeli partners. Together with partners from the University of Haifa and the Givat Haviva educational institution, Peace Academy staff are working to bring the concept of 'Shared Society' to life and put it into practice. The project consists of online and offline meetings in the form of 'Expert Schools' in Landau and Haifa, Zoom lectures, TED Talks and collaboration on publications and reports. After presenting the current projects, Charlotte Dany emphasized in her presentation that Germany can learn a lot from Israel. The experience of dealing with communal conflicts in a very conflictual and divided society is also becoming more important in this country. In Germany, the discourse surrounding refugees, coronavirus and wind power is increasingly dividing society, which makes such conflict expertise indispensable. In order to continue or even expand the exchange between the two countries, an international program with Erasmus+ mobility will continue to be funded.
