Further cooperation with the University of Haifa
Charlotte Dany paid a visit to the University of Haifa from June 4-12, 2022. She used this opportunity to revive old contacts, make new ones and lay the foundations for further cooperation. The Peace Academy has enjoyed a close cooperation with the University of Haifa for many years, which is characterized by a combination of research and practice within the framework of the Shared Society Programme. The Erasmus+-funded stay of our Managing Director served to initiate further concrete projects and also offered the opportunity to get involved in teaching at the University of Haifa and to visit Givat Haviva.
Charlotte Dany offered two workshops for students of the international MA Peace and Conflict Management, who came from countries such as Russia, Nigeria, the USA, Canada, China and Switzerland. The topics of "Social divisions in the coronavirus pandemic" and "NGOs" proved to be very relevant to the wide range of experiences and backgrounds of the participants. The stay was rounded off with a visit to the NGO and educational institution Givat Haviva, which has been committed to a living Jewish-Arab community for more than 70 years - in line with the vision of a Shared Society. Here, Charlotte Dany met the Director of Strategy, Mohammad Darawshe, as well as Magnus Gottl, who was a student assistant at the Peace Academy before joining the Givat Haviva team.
