Improving the Life Cycle Eco Performance of a Wheeled Excavator
in the Context of “ERMA – Energy and Resource Efficient Mobile Working Machines”
Resulting from a scarcity of fossil resources and raw materials as well as from rising energy costs and new political and technical requirements, the sector of construction equipment is currently in change. A reduction of energy consumption is one of the most important innovation topics in this industry branch. In order to fulfill high energy requirements in the near future, extensive concepts, new structures and innovative technical concepts increasing the total energy efficiency of a product system are needed. The paper introduces an ap-proach for an eco performance analysis in the early phases, evaluating technical concepts in a cross disciplinary product development.
