Welcome
The RE-CITY consortium is glad to announce the hybrid International Conference on the 17-18 March 2022:
Shrinking Cities Revived!
Innovative paths and perspectives towards liveability for shrinking cities
To provide a perspective for the resilient and sustainably sound development of shrinking cities 17 partners from three continents and ten countries have worked together in the RE-CITY ITN for four years to:
- combine shrinking cities research across multiple disciplines
- analyse case studies and paths of actions in shrinking cities
- develop methods, training skills and applications for RE-CITY
- provide training for a new generation of planners
The conference features cutting edge results of shrinking cities research with presentations by project partners and contributions invited and selected through a call for abstracts. The conference also offers a platform for debate with a panel discussion with top-class panellists from national and international policy networks. For more information please take a look at the preliminary programme below.

This conference is sponsored by the Bertelsmann Foundation and the University Priority Area Region and City.
