Equality plan at RPTU

Equality is structurally anchored at RPTU. RPTU bases its actions on Article 3, Paragraphs 2 and 3 of the Basic Law and the State Higher Education Act, which supports the constitutional mandate by striving for gender parity and the structural reduction of disadvantages (see HochSchG, § 2). All equality measures are based on the objectives set out in the equality plan.

On 09.07.2025, the Senate of RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau adopted the new equality plan of RPTU drawn up by the Senate Committee for Gender Equality(SaG). The equality plan is designed for a period up to 2030. However, RPTU plans to revise the equality plan once the new university structure has been implemented.

Objectives of the equality plan

The Gender Equality Plan 2025-2030 pursues the following overarching objectives in particular:

  • Increasing the proportion of women in the qualification levels and organizational units in which they are currently underrepresented (§ 4 para. 10 HochSchG in conjunction with § 14 LGG), taking into account subject-specific characteristics, also in a national comparison
  • Improvement of equal opportunities in career advancement in science on the basis of the cascade model (§ 4 para. 10 HochSchG)
  • Identification of key points for the cultural and structural anchoring of equality and diversity at the university
