Our new programme this summer term, “federleicht” (“light as a feather”) melds German romantic with current international choir music. Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and Friedrich Silcher meet modern compositions by Ēriks Ešenvalds, Ola Gjeilo, Morten Lauridsen, and Frank Tichelli.
The music drifts from nature to the stars to quiet moments of mindfulness. Floating soundscapes and lyrical fold melodies interweave with spiritual works about light, hope, and community.
Friedrich Silcher's “Der alte Barbarossa”, a musical interpretation of the Barbarossa legend, connects our concert to the history of Kaiserslautern for the city's 750 year anniversary.
