The simulation game simulates the work of an expert commission, on the basis of which the German government formulates guidelines for the foreign and security policy approach to nuclear weapons. The game teaches skills on core political issues such as international security, (nuclear) deterrence and non-proliferation, while at the same time providing insights into democratic negotiation processes and the complexity of government decisions. It offers a wealth of learning experiences from a practical perspective on a topic with special reference to the "stationing location" Rhineland-Palatinate
- Developed with teachers from and for schools in Rhineland-Palatinate
Based on six political options for action that were actually discussed
- Open outcome of the game
The simulation game is offered in two versions: The target group is either pupils from advanced or basic courses in social studies or history (MSS/SEK II) or classes with corresponding subject lessons in SEK I. In both cases, the pupils receive targeted and multidimensional support in acquiring their skills, in particular their argumentation and analysis skills, through guided and role-based observation of topics.
