The Senate Committee on Quality in Studies and Teaching (QSL) serves as the campus-wide platform for internal discussions on quality at RPTU. Chaired by the current Vice President for Teaching, the committee advises the Senate on all fundamental issues related to quality assurance and development in academic studies and teaching.
It is governed by § 5 of the Statutes on Quality Assurance and Development in Studies and Teaching at the RPTU University Kaiserslautern-Landau.
Tasks
- Development of university-wide quality objectives
(e.g., Teaching Mission Statement) - Identifying and supporting subprojects aimed at further developing academic programs and teaching, in particular:
- Designing the process for the further development of degree programs
- Further development of the process for introducing new degree programs
- Incorporating external expertise and conducting evaluations
- Drafting of resolution proposals for the Senate
Composition
The composition of the Senate Committee on Quality Assurance in Academic Studies and Teaching is governed by § 5 of the Bylaws on Quality Assurance and Development in Academic Studies and Teaching.
The Senate Committee on Quality Assurance in Studies and Teaching (QSL) consists of two campus-specific subsystems:
- Senate Committee for Quality Assurance in Studies and Teaching, Landau
- Senate Commission on Quality in Studies and Teaching at RPTU in Kaiserslautern
These subsystems continue to exist organizationally and are each based on the location-specific stakeholder groups and areas of responsibility. Meetings are held jointly across all locations within the Senate Committee for Quality Assurance in Studies and Teaching (QSL).
