The Rhineland-Palatinate Patent and Information Centre is your point of contact for the protection of ideas - competent, officially authorized and close to research and practice.

We are the Rhineland-Palatinate Patent and Information Centre (PIZ) - the only authorized cooperation partner of the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA) in our federal state. Since our foundation on November 20, 1881, we have been an integral part of the Rhineland-Palatinate innovation system in the field of industrial property rights and the first institution of its kind in the state.

Funded by the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Economic Affairs, Transport, Agriculture and Viniculture (MWVLW), we see ourselves today as a modern service institution and competent contact point - especially for universities, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and individual inventors.

As an acceptance office officially recognized by the DPMA, we provide you with reliable support in all matters relating to patents, trade marks and designs - practical, understandable and at eye level.
