November 2012: ERMA at the PTC|Live

PTC|Live is one of a kind international series of events organized by PTC and its technology and distribution partners. The German event takes place this year in November again in Stuttgart. On two days you can experience trainings and networking opportunities within the framework of which one can exchange ideas with product and PLM experts and learn about the newest best practices in industry and science. With its multilayered and diverse program of client and expert presentations as well as user trainings PTC|Live has established itself as a must for PTC clients and PLM experts. Sustainable Product Development in Construction of Mobile Working Machines with PTC Windchill and PTC Windchill Product Analytics

Professor Dr.-Ing. Martin Eigner, University of Kaiserslautern

The viable development on the basis of economical, ecological and social sustainability shapes the core of the future development of human kind in the 21st century. One of the guidelines for the constructive design is the development of products that conform to the principal of sustainability. Engineers define early in the product life cycle essential product properties and thereby implicitly the resulting costs over the entire lifecycle as well as the impact on the environment and society. In the development of new as well as in the optimization of existing product the precise design of a sustainable product has to be monitored and managed. Appropriate tools and methods are needed for the international engineering process. This technical talk addresses Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) as a key concept for creation of sustainable design processes in the field of engineering.
