Blog Series: Forgotten Conflicts

On the occasion of the relaunch of the Peace Academy blog, we specifically welcome contributions on the topic of "Forgotten Conflicts". For the past year, the Covid-19 pandemic has dominated media and social debates. From a peace studies perspective, two trends in particular can be observed. On the one hand, conflicts and inequalities are becoming increasingly visible that were already in place before the pandemic, at least in their basic structures. Secondly, in favour of supposedly more pressing problems, existing, often long-standing, political conflicts and humanitarian crises are moving into the background in daily reporting. The worldwide restrictions on movement and lockdowns also contribute to less attention for global or distant conflicts.
