Association of Friends and Supporters

The Peace Academy Rhineland-Palatinate is a widely recognized research centre for crisis prevention and civil conflict management. Networking and cooperation, especially with civil society actors, are essential elements of its mission. The Association of Friends and Supporters of the Peace Academy aims to support the peace research and peace policy activities of the Peace Academy as well as the development of civil and preventive strategies of conflict and crisis management through its work - both ideally and materially.

The Association strives to strengthen the public visibility of the Peace Academy and to further its future as a central institution for peace and conflict research in the region and beyond. This includes funding projects that cannot be easily financed through the university budget and supporting the diverse range of events offered by the Peace Academy as a contribution to peace policy-oriented education in order to promote awareness of the importance of peace research and peace education in practice. The Association regards the support of the Academy in its efforts to establish a close link between civil society and the academia. Furthermore, the association sees it's central task in intensifying the cooperative relationship between peace research and the political peace engagement.
