Project areas

The overall "E-Services" project is divided into various project areas. These are based on the digitalization areas defined in the university development plan. The project areas bundle individual projects with similar focal points and thus form an organizing element in the overall project.

"Digital infrastructure" project area

The "Digital infrastructure" project area bundles individual projects that are intended to create the technological basis for further digitalization at RPTU. In addition to the continuous modernization of existing IT infrastructure components, the focus is on the development and expansion of the central infrastructure, the networks, the servers, the basic software based on them and the end devices. This project area focuses on projects of the Regional University Computing Center (RHRZ) as well as those that form a functional platform for the entire university.

Project area "Specialist administration"

The "Specialist administration" project area bundles individual projects that particularly affect the digitalization of the core administration. This primarily concerns Departments 1 (Legal Affairs), 2 (Finance), 3 (Human Resources) and 6 (Central Services). The focus is on projects for the introduction and expansion of specialist applications.

Technical administration" project area

The "Technical administration" project area bundles individual projects that relate in particular to the digitalization of administrative areas for the management of properties, buildings and technical systems. This primarily concerns Departments 5 (Technology) and 6 (Central Services). The focus is on projects for the introduction and expansion of specialist applications.

Project area "(De)Central areas"

The project area "(De)Central Areas" bundles individual projects that particularly affect the digitalization of central institutions at RPTU as well as their departments and staff units. This includes Unisport, the University Library (UB), the University Communications and Statistics & Reporting units as well as Unit 1 (University Structural Reform/Profiling). The focus is on projects for the introduction and expansion of specialist applications.

Project area "Studies & Teaching"

The "Studies & Teaching" project area bundles individual projects that relate in particular to the digitalization of administrative areas for student management. This primarily concerns Department 4 (Students), the Distance and Independent Studies Center (DISC), Departments 3 (Strategic Development in Studies and Teaching), 4 (Quality in Studies and Teaching) and 6 (International Affairs/International Office) as well as the Center for Teacher Education (ZfL). The focus is on projects for the introduction and expansion of specialist applications.

Project area "Research & Transfer"

The project area "Research & Transfer" bundles individual projects that are located at the interface between research and administration. This primarily concerns Units 2 (Research), 5 (Transfer, Innovation and Sustainability) and 7 (Career Development and Appointments). On the other hand, there is also space here for projects whose results are made available to the general public by researchers in the spirit of digitization. The focus is on projects for the introduction and expansion of specialist applications.
