This declaration applies to the central website of the University of Kaiserslautern-Landau under the initial link https://rptu.de and its departments. These each have an abbreviation in the URL before "rptu.de". They are technically identical.

The University of Kaiserslautern-Landau is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities.

Status of compatibility with the requirements

This website is partially compatible with the Federal and State Disability Equality Acts (BGG & LGG), the Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.

Justification

The University of Kaiserslautern-Landau has a very extensive website with at least several hundred web pages. However, due to the disproportionate burden imposed by the federal and state equality laws, the website is not yet fully accessible. The technical implementation is being carried out successively.

Non-accessible content

  • Content in sign language and/or plain language is not offered.
  • A cookie banner is not used.
  • All PDF documents checked in the corresponding test pages are not accessible according to the PAC 2024 test tool.
  • Some links/control elements do not have an alt attribute
  • Some image content does not have an alt attribute
  • Some videos do not have comprehensible subtitles
  • Some videos do not have audio description
  • Some headings are not consistently marked with H elements
  • Some text paragraphs are not consistently marked with P elements
  • Not all form fields are marked with LABEL
  • Input fields for user data (e.g. name, addresses, e-mail) do not have an autocomplete attribute
  • Minimum contrast ratio of 3:1 or 4.5:1 is not adhered to in some places (e.g. image carousel, in front of background images, up button, slider bullets)
  • Keyboard operability at 200% zoom is not always guaranteed (e.g. drop-down menu)
  • Keyboard operability is not always guaranteed on narrow screens (e.g. drop-down menu)
  • Some functions cannot be operated without a mouse (e.g. video activation, register form)
  • No jump links to skip page areas (e.g. navigation, image carousel)
  • Some links are not meaningful
  • Minimum contrast ratio of 3:1 with keyboard focus is not guaranteed
  • HTML syntax not in accordance with W3C recommendations on all pages
  • Not all elements are marked with correct ARIA semantics (e.g. tabs, multiple selection fields)

Documentation on accessibility does not fulfill all criteria of EN 301 549.

The arbitration board has the task of supporting an out-of-court settlement of disputes between people with disabilities and public bodies on the subject of accessibility.
