Student ID card

You received your student ID card at the beginning of your studies. In addition to its function as student ID and for copying/printing, the multifunctional chip card serves as a payment card for the Mensa at both campuses.
If you would like to use your student ID card to pay at the cafeteria on the other campus, you must have a second “wallet number” loaded onto your card at the terminals there. You can then add credit to this second wallet number and use it.
At the Kaiserslautern campus, you can also use the student ID card in the following areas:
- Library
- Basic card Unisport
The student ID card ist not valid as a ticket. In Kaiserslautern the app-bound D-Semesterticket can be used.
The ID cards of the TU Kaiserslautern and the University of Koblenz-Landau are still valid, provided they have been validated for the current semester.
At the beginning of your studies, you will be issued a student ID card.
The student ID card is valid as long as you are enrolled. At the beginning of each semester, the current validity period is printed on the card using a validator. Validation for a semester is possible as soon as you have successfully re-registered.
#Kaiserslautern
You will receive your student ID card with the printed validity for your first semester.
The validators in Kaiserslautern are located in Building 47 (in the hallway in front of the SSC/ground floor), in the cafeteria, and in the library.
If the student ID card is issued very shortly before the start of the semester, you can collect it from the StudierendenServiceCenter. In this case, we will inform you by e-mail.
#Landau
Please note that the student ID card has not yet been validated. You will find the validators between the Audimax and the cafeteria on the Landau campus.
If you lose your student ID card, please contact the StudentServiceCenter at your campus.
We can block your student ID card and ensure that the deposited credit cannot be used. Please notify us immediately by email (see below) if you lose your card. You will receive a replacement card for a fee of €20. You will automatically receive all further information on how to apply for a replacement card by e-mail after you have reported the loss.
We will inform you via email if the card is found and handed in to us.
If the chip is damaged, this may result in limitations or a complete failure of the payment and validation functions.
If you have problems with your student ID card, please contact your local StudentServiceCenter. The on-site team will check for any technical defects.
Replacement is free of charge in the event of a technical problem, for instance. If there is visible external damage (e.g., bent or broken card), please apply for a replacement card (€20).
Please note that we cannot guarantee that the new student ID card will be ready on the day you apply!
If you change your name, you may voluntarily request a new student ID card. To do so, contact the SSC at your campus.
Distance learning students can have a student ID card issued for a fee of €10. If you are interested, please contact the SSC Kaiserslautern.
