The project to introduce a new library system was launched last year and has now been transferred to the E-Services division.

The old library system "Aleph" is to be replaced by the successor system "ALMA". A discovery system will also be connected. The software will be introduced at the Kaiserslautern and Landau campuses as part of the merger. Accordingly, representatives from both university libraries are involved in the project. Joint productive use of the library system should be possible from August 2022.

The new system consists of various modules for managing library work. In addition to classic user management, this will include loans, interlibrary loans, reminders, fees, reservations, orders, a catalog, statistics, invoices, etc.

Dr. Andreas Rosteck from Kaiserslautern University Library is in charge of the project.
